Jerry Stephen Bell

Jerry Stephen “Steve” Bell, Marshfield, was born June 16, 1957, to Roy Lee and Ida May (Barton) Bell in Roseburg, Oregon. He departed this life November 10, 2024, at the age of 67 years.

Steve graduated from Marshfield High School in 1976. He went on to Okmulgee State Institute of Technology where he earned his degree in construction.

In 1987 Steve married his sweetheart Emma. They made their home in Marshfield for 37 years. Steve had a lifelong passion for baseball whether it was playing, coaching or watching. The St. Louis Cardinals were his obsession. He couldn’t stand to miss a game. Steve also loved to bowl. In 1992 he was Missouri State bowling champion which earned him a trip to Las Vegas where he got to play with the professionals.  He was also a heck of a square dancer.

Steve found great joy in his nieces and nephews. When he held each one after they were born, He would say “Hi, I’m your favorite Uncle Steve”. And he never let them forget he was their favorite.

Steve was a special man with pure kindness in his heart. He had a way of making each one of us feel loved and special. Through all the trials and tribulations this life threw at him, he faced them with positivity, lots of humor and most of all love.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, John Sees.

He is survived by his wife, Emma (Tripp) Bell of the home; his brother, Todd and Nancy Bell of Marshfield; his sisters, Tammy Sees of Marshfield, Tina Stone and Tom of Rogersville, Kara Fitch and Tom of Rogersville; a very special little girl in his life, Faith Koster; and many other relatives and friends.
