Billye Genevieve Hall, also known as “Hopper”, peacefully passed away at 8:43 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at The Maples in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 94.

Billye was born on June 22, 1925 in Lead Hill, Arkansas, and was one of three children born to William and Flo Tatum.

She is survived by daughter’s Georgann (Jon) Hornback of Rialto, CA, Patty (Jim) Kabell of Miller, MO; son’s James (Marjorie) Hall of Calimesa, CA and David Hall of Marshfield, MO; eleven grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Billye fell in love and married George Hall during World War II. That love resulted in a marriage that lasted almost 60 years. She still teared up whenever she heard the song “Always”. She loved her family and could rattle off every birthday of every child and grandchild. She could remember more details than any of the rest of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; one sister; one brother; and a great-grandson Tyler.

Billye accepted Christ as her Savior as a girl but wasn’t baptized until her early sixties due to being afraid of being under water. She finally trusted HIM completely.

She was a member of the Baptist church and Eastern Star in Marshfield. She enjoyed family, talking about the past, reading, bingo and especially casino’s. She was known for her cooking and sewing.

All of us will miss our Mom and Grandma and the room around us will be unusually quite without her chatter. She never met a stranger and was never at a loss of words or subjects to talk about.

We’re glad she’s home now where she wanted to be.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. with interment in Marshfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday in the funeral home.
