Esther Lucille Blinn

 
 

Esther Lucille “Lucy” Blinn, Springfield, was born May 29, 1931, to Claude and Arrena (Woods) Beckner in Springfield, Missouri. She peacefully departed this life at the Springfield Rehabilitation Center on September 17, 2024, at the age of 93 years.

Lucy was a longtime member of the Marshfield Christian Church. Lucy very much cherished the comfort and spiritual uplifting provided by the church family.

Lucy spent many years at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. Lucy was in charge of the Cardiac Cath Lab at St. John’s for the first eighteen years of its existence. Lucy retired from the nursing profession but continued to serve as the Webster County Deputy Coroner. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doctor J.E. Blinn; one sister, Ann Betteridge; two brothers, James Beckner, and Dan Beckner.

She is survived by one sister, Sue Hightower of Duncan, Oklahoma; ten nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will be in Marshfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be before services Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home.
