Gary "Bud" Dedmon

Gary Herbert “Bud” Dedmon was born June 22, 1944 in Cedar Gap, Missouri.  On Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 8:45 am, he departed this earth to meet his Heavenly Father whom he served.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, GA and Virginia Dedmon, and one sister, Meredith Sue Clouse.

Bud is survived by his wife, Sue of 11 years, his sister Beth Dedmon Barker of Mansfield, six children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and countless friends.  His children are Gary Dedmon and Twila of Hartville, Lisa Burton and David of Monett, Greg Dedmon and Cara of Rocky Mount, Gene Dedmon and Christina of Hartville, Shelley Brayfield and Scott of Springfield, and Kristie Crawford-Moody and Jason of Marshfield.

On January 14, 2011, Bud married the love of his life, Sue (Crawford) Dedmon. They resided in their family home in Marshfield.  This marriage made Bud’s life complete, and he often said these were the best years of his life.  Bud and Sue spent their time traveling, spending time with friends and family, and serving the Lord together.  Their home was often filled with people, full of laughter and the coffee pot was always on.

Bud was a true outdoorsman and was always ready for a fishing trip or opportunity to be in the woods hunting.  He was also deeply involved with serving God through Diggins Baptist Church, Men’s Ministry, and he walked with many men and women as they walked through life events.  Bud’s favorite Scripture was Matthew 4:19 “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”.  This verse fit him well as he loved fishing, loved serving the Lord, and he loved people.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Diggins Baptist Church, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment with military honors will follow in Seymour Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Gideons International or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, Mo 65706.
