James Henry Butzler
James Henry Butzler, Marshfield, was born September 16, 1926 in Cashton, WI to William and Josephine (Gronemus) Butzler. He departed this life on July 12, 2021 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 94.
James retired from the United States Army, and served in the Philippines during World War II, Japan post war and in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW. James enjoyed cutting his grass and gardening. He made stained glass, and loved to tinker and build. He was very family oriented, and loved to tell stories of his farm life and growing up. James was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Butzler; and siblings, Walter Butzler, Mildred Lundsten, Rita Fuller, Werlen Butzler, and Carol Smith.
James is survived by his children, Ronald Butzler (Bebe Stewart) of McLoud, OK, Pete Butzler (Amanda Gentges) of Devil's Elbow, MO, and David Butzler (Debi Butzler) of Bellevue, TN; his sister, Marlene Tritch (David Tritch) of Waterloo, IA; grandchildren, James J. Butzler (Andrea Butzler), Matthew Butzler, Eric Butzler, Dylan Butzler, and Dustin Butzler (Sydney Willcox); and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jeremiah, Madelyn, and expecting another.
Visitation for James Butzler will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, with funeral services following at 11:30 a.m. in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
