Avis Viola Carriger

Avis Viola Carriger, Hartville, was born March 22, 1932, in Hartville, MO, to William and Dessie (Hurt) Kelley. She departed this life on October 20, 2024 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 92.

Avis was a farmer and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Carriger; her parents; two brothers, George Kelley and Joe Kelley; five sisters, Fern Shaver, Ida Buck, Imogene Lowery, Dorthy Weaver and Betty Browitt; and her granddaughter, Twayna Graham.

Avis is survived by four children, Bonnie Carriger, Springfield, Lucille Carriger, Springfield, Wanda Morell, Hartville, and Chester Carriger and wife Connie, Hartville; one brother, Don Kelley, Hartville; five grandchildren, Mike Morell and wife Tamara, Terri Lynn Acosta and husband Juan, Tim Morell, Janolyn Mullen and husband Jerry, Jerry Burnett and wife Annie; twenty great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew who could always make her laugh, Larry Carriger, Springfield; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Little Creek Cemetery, 7191 Alvard Rd. Hartville, MO, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be at the cemetery before services from 1-2 p.m.
