Leonard Thomas Carr

 
 

Leonard Thomas Carr, 94, joined his beloved wife, Helen, with the Lord on August 19, 2023, in Marshfield, MO.  Leonard was born to Mary (McAlister) and Thomas Carr on October 12, 1928 and began his family with Helen on December 24, 1949.

Leonard and Helen had four children - Thomas Carr, Linda Cantrell, David Carr, and Diana Rice - who went on to bless them with 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Anyone who met Leonard knew he was a strong man of God and a hard worker. At a young age, Leonard began cement work and at 16, he served with the Merchant Marines before starting a family and working in the Masonry trade. 

Leonard took great pride in his work and freely gave of his time and talent in helping others. Leonard was devoted to his family and a devoted man of God. Leonard was always praying for others and sharing his testimony of how the Lord Jesus Christ turned his life around and shared the Good News of Jesus' love for them. Leonard was a light and inspiration to others. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. 

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Leila, Loretta, Wanda, and Thelma, brothers Elden and Harvey, and wife, Helen. He is survived by two sisters, Bessie and Erma, several nieces and nephews, and his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Landmark Church, Strafford, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Leonard will be laid to rest next to Helen in Welch Cemetery, Northview. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday, September 1, in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
