Carolyn Sue Comfort
Carolyn Sue Comfort, Marshfield, was born January 7, 1961 to Bernard L. and Olive F. Dalrymple Lamp, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She passed on November 10, 2021 in her home at the age of 60. Carolyn had worked as a home healthcare nurse and had served in the United States Army. Carolyn was a member of Shady Grove Wesleyan Nazarene Church, Elkland.
She was a loving mother, wife, and friend. She gave to those around her, comforted those who needed, and was always willing to help no matter the time of day. She loved family gatherings, rides around the countryside, baby livestock animals, her two cats, and her Mountain State. As a nurse she served her community, in the Army, she served her country. As a pastor’s wife and caretaker, she helped those around her find comfort in passing, and strength in love and togetherness. Till the end she always tried to give to those around her in love and thoughtfulness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers and sisters; Richard Lamp and Steve Lamp Parkersburg, WV, Rick Lamp, St. Mary’s, WV, Chuck Lamp and Bill Lamp New Martinsville, WV, June Ridgeway New Matamoras, WV, Dana Wince Davenport, WV.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Myron Comfort, Marshfield, MO; her children, William John McCormick IV, Clay Center, KS, Stewart Lee McCormick, Springfield, MO, Danielle Garcia, Burbank, CA, Cynthia Sexton, Kansas City, MO, and Craig Comfort, Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; two brothers, John Lamp Parkersburg, WV and Dave Lamp Marietta, OH; and two sisters, Doris Kiggans Dart, OH and Inez Davis, St. Mary’s WV.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Black Oak Cemetery, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
