Elston Homer Lowe, Marshfield, was born September 2, 1931 to Harbert H. and Bessie Lena (Manar) Lowe. He departed this life on December 29, 2021 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

Elston was a devoted family man with enough love and compassion to reach out to all relatives, friends, and neighbors. He and his wife, Lelia, took in over forty foster children over the course of several years. He was a devout Christian who read his Bible daily, and attended church regularly.

Elston’s passions were his spotted horses, his love of entertaining with his guitar, and country music.

His early career was launched when he went to mechanics training courtesy of Marshfield Motor Company. From there, he was hired as a mechanic for the Missouri State Highway Department where he kept the vehicles in service for seven local department sheds. Elston and his wife, Lelia operated the H&R Block business in Marshfield for several years. He always had a love for farming and operated a dairy for many years. Any neighbor in need was always welcome to fresh milk and garden produce. During their semi-retirement, Elston and Lelia were Relief Managers for Motel 6. This was their opportunity for travel in the deep south.

Elston was a kind, loving and generous man, and will be missed by all who were privileged to know him.
