He was preceded in death by his parents, Terrill and Inez Rost and a baby sister, Ruth Evelyn.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Scott).  They were married on October 15, 1971.  They had three children together:  James Rost and his wife Chris, Jennifer Cantrell and her husband Bobby, and Brett Rost, all of Marshfield.  They had eleven grandchildren: Dakota Wright, of Springfield, Kaylee Wright and her fiance Brandon Kehoe, of Marshfield, Charles Rost and his wife Riley Kate, of Mt. Vernon, Chenoah Ramey and her husband Evan, Ashley Rost, Connor Rost, Mylah Rost, Ember Rost, Collin Rost, Orissa Rost and Anaiah Rost.  Three great-grandchildren:  Alexis Kehoe, Sawyer Ramey, Tucker Ramey, and one on the way, Colt Kehoe.  Brother-in-laws: Raymond Scott and his wife Carolyn, Larry Scott and his wife Tammie; sister-in-laws: Mary Lou Graves, Blanche Firestone, Linda Devore and her husband Donnie and Rachel Young, plus many other relatives and friends.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, but was stationed in Germany.  He retired from the City of Marshfield and worked on his farm.  He loved baling hay with his son Brett and James and Jennifer could always count on him to be there for them.  He was always willing to help anyone.

He was a Christian and attended Mt. Sinai Church.

He will be missed so much.  Josephine was waiting for their 50th anniversary in October to go on a one day trip together, though sometimes they went longer.  The kids can remember lots of good and fun vacations.  He loved his family very much.
