Eva Lee Gower
Born on Christmas Day in 1927 to James Tipton Davis and Ada Orpha (Keesling) Davis, Eva Lee Gower went to her Heavenly home on Monday, May 6, 2019. She was 91 years, 4 months, and 12 days old at the time of her passing.
Baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rader, MO, Eva Lee was a lifelong Christian. She met Billy Joe Gower on a blind date and married him on February 3, 1951 just before Joe was deployed to the Korean Conflict. They were married 41 years until Joe’s passing in 1992. To this union, four children were born.
Eva Lee was a homemaker and full time mother to her children. In 1963, she was diagnosed with cancer; she survived an additional 56 years cancer free. In time, she went to work at Marshfield Schools as a cafeteria employee from which she retired in May of 1992. During her retirement, she enjoyed quilting, reading, and Friday night dinners with her family.
Her parents; her husband, Joe Gower; her brothers, Paul and William Davis and her sisters, Ula Rader and Irene Heine, preceded her in death.
Her brothers and sisters Lorene Fischer, Clarence Davis, Doyle Davis, Joseph Davis and his wife, Phyllis, Barbara Reiley and her husband, Bill; sister-in-law Evelyn Cunningham and her husband, Billie; her children, Allen Gower and his wife, Tara; Denny Gower and his wife, Patricia; Myra Graham and her husband, Robert; Kara Ghan and her husband, Christopher; her 11 grandchildren; as well as 17 great-grandchildren survive her.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with interment following in Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-3:00 Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
