Gladys Louise Gaeke, Marshfield, was born May 23, 1930 in McClellan County, TX to Alfred and Adeline Boeche. She departed this life on December 29, 2019 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

Gladys and her husband, Charles, moved to Missouri from Texas in 1954 and started their family. They were dairy and beef farmers. She was involved in the Webster County Extension Office for several years, from 1987-2005, serving as a small farm family assistant starting in 1989. She was a 4-H Project Leader, and was active in the Community Sunshine Club. She started the Fiber Fair in Marshfield, as well as advising the beginning of the Marshfield Farmers Market. Gladys was involved in many more grants and beginning projects through the University of Missouri Extension. She enjoyed square dancing with Charles, and camping with family and friends at Cloud 9 Ranch. Gladys was a member of the Elkland Lion’s Club, the American Angus Association, and Missouri Foxtrotting Horse Breed Association. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; and her brother, Rev. Harold Boeche.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Dr. Valerie Gaeke-Lowe (Brian), Marshfield; sons, Robert Gaeke (Marinda) Marshfield, and Dwayne Gaeke, Marshfield; sister, Ethel Mae Londenberg (Gilbert), Riesel, TX; and one granddaughter, Heather Latham (Aaron), Springfield.

Funeral services for Gladys will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Angels of Hope (American Cancer Society) and left in care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, MO 65706.
