Richard Scott Baker
Richard Scott Baker, son of John Henry Baker and Phyllis June (Basham) Baker, was born May 21, 1967 in Ironton, Mo. Richard was the third of five children. He passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 in Marshfield.
Richard was an Bio-Pharm Quality Control and CWI (certified welding inspector) for Paul Mueller in Springfield. He attended the Marshfield Church of the Nazarene. Richard served the Lord and made his profession in Christ at an early age.
Richard loved the Lord, his wife, his children and grandchildren above all. He enjoyed hunting, including bow hunting and black powder hunting, as well as blacksmithing with his son Blake. He loved watching his daughter Noel perform in theater, and was so proud of his daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Dakota for blessing him with beautiful grandbabies. He could always be found outdoors, riding his motorcycle and running. He competed in several 5Ks and he loved his Copenhagen.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmo and Thela Baker and Jack and Bertha Basham; cousin, Randy Basham; mother-in-law, Sharon Campbell, and his sister-in-law, Tonya Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife Angela; three children, Amanda Turley and her husband Dakota, Hartville, Noel Baker and Blake Baker, both of Marshfield; two grandchildren, Carleigh and Claira Turley; his parents, John Baker, Eldridge and Phyllis Baker, Lebanon; one brother, Johnie Baker and wife Cindy, Lebanon; three sisters, Mary Ann and husband Bobby Rodden, Gainesville, GA, and Anita Van Hooser, Marshfield and Valerie and husband Chad Hilderband, Warrensburg; and nieces, nephews several relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Flat Woods Cemetery, Summerville, MO. Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
