Herschell Kenneth Lairmore

Herschell Kenneth Lairmore, Marshfield, was born in Jefferson City, MO November 13, 1940 to George and Nellie (Gilmore) Lairmore. He departed this life on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield at the age of 77.

Herschell was schooled in Jefferson City, graduating in 1959. He spent much of his time in city parks, where his father worked for the park service. He was united in marriage to Rosina Bacon on January 16, 1960, and to this union four children were born. Herschell served in the United States Air Force. He worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections until his retirement in 2001, where he was employee of the month in April 1996. He was a Scout leadership training staff and roundtable staff member, Wild West District in Kansas from 1975-1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Shanks and Mary Jackson; and an infant brother.

Herschell is survived by his wife Rosina, of the home; two sons, Herschell Glen Lairmore, Lohman, MO, and Charles Emmett Larimore and Brenda, Marshfield, MO; two daughters, Diana Poynter and O’Dell, Miami, OK, and Nora Bearden and John Paul, Marshfield, MO; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Herschell Lairmore will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, MO, with burial following in Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be before the funeral from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
