James C. "Jimmie" Myers
MARSHFIELD – James C. Myers (Jimmie) passed away January 3rd, 2018 at the age of 79 following a long illness with Parkinson’s disease. Jimmie was born September 30th, 1938 in Springfield, MO. to Olen and Elsie (Masters) Myers. In 1959 he married Martha J. Andreatta, with that union of 58 years, they had five children. He was a faithful Christian and followed God throughout his life. Jim and Martha ran several businesses throughout their lives including a construction company, farm, hair salon, travel agency and the Home Corner in downtown Marshfield.
Jim and Martha traveled throughout the world experiencing many places and different cultures. He was a father, a host parent for a student from Peru, an active member of the Glory Bound Quartet, a water skier, a cattleman and was a friend to many.
He loved life and loved spending time with his family. In the last few years, enjoying everyone together was what made him the happiest. He truly appreciated those that stopped by to check on him or visit with Martha and him.
He was preceded in death by two of his children, Katrina Jo and Mary Michelle, and his father Olen Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Myers of 58 years, Children, Valerie (Myers) and Jim Cooper, Branson, Andy Myers & Prem Prasad, Marshfield, Angela (Myers) Stephens-Sauber and Darold Sauber, Springfield, Grandson Drake Stephens, Springfield, Mother, Elsie Myers, Marshfield, Sisters: Sue Miles, Marshfield, Patricia Cantrell, Marshfield, Jean Snow, Marshfield, Linda Dustin, Conway, Wilma Stanley, Marshfield and Kem Myers, Marshfield, Sister –in-law Betty Ann Letterman, Afton, OK and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Marshfield, MO.
Services will be Saturday January 6th, 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church, Marshfield, MO.
