John William Callaway
John William Callaway, son of John M. Callaway and Jeanette Belle Todd Callaway, was born March 3rd, 1929 in Marshfield, Missouri and departed this life on December 2nd, 2017. At the time of his passing he was 88 years old.
John spent most of his life in Webster County. In his early years he attended Rocky Point School and went to Ebenezer Methodist church with his family.
On May 5, 1951, John was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Betty Stewart. They were blessed with five children, one of which passed away at birth. During most of their 66 years together they lived on their farm in the Beach neighborhood. John spent many years as a Dairy Farm Specialist for Kraft until retirement. They enjoyed going to St. Luke Methodist Church and being with their church family. His greatest joy in life was serving God, being with family, and taking care of their farm and cattle.
John is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Nancy Jean, three sisters, Geneva Callaway, Josephine Thomlinson and husband Rocky, Hazel Jean Schneider and husband Happy, one brother Garland Callaway, one son-in-law, Joe Young, and one great grandson, Jaxon Callaway.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Callaway, two sons, John R. Callaway and wife Jill, and David Callaway, two daughters, Sherry Young, and Sue Rader and husband Gary, sister-in-law, Doris Callaway, nine grandchildren, Susan Ivie, Brian Young, Kevin Young, Emily Peck, Andy Callaway, Aaron Callaway, Janeen Rader, Janie Hall, and Adam Callaway, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. with interment following in St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marshfield Christian School or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
