Ronald Duane Johns

Ronald Duane Johns, son of Glenn and Leona (James) Johns, was born July 13, 1949 in Nampa, ID. He passed away at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 in Marshfield Care Center at the age of 73.

Ron was a proud Marine that served in Viet Nam. He returned to the Ozarks when his tour was up and lived in Elkland until his passing.

He retired from Nelson Automotive in Springfield due to heath issues. He tried to stay busy working on vehicles and tractors until his Rheumatoid Arthritis would no longer allow him to.

He loved driving his tractors in parades, family get together’ s and EATING! He was a member of Four Rivers Church and was very strong in his faith. He was also a Chaplin for VFW Post 4101 in Marshfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Della; his daughter Marlyn; and a brother, Glenn Thomas Johns.

Survivors include two brothers, Jim (Dorothy) Johns and Darrel (Mary Jane) Johns; two sisters Dorothy Callahan and Sandy Cox; a sister-in-law, Donna Johns; son-in-law, John Rood; a grandson, Brandon; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hannah’s General Store and the friends in Elkland that were so kind to him as well as his church family. Thanks also to Good Shephard Hospice and the staff at Marshfield Care for the care the last month of his life.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday in the funeral home.
