Jon Medlock

Jon Jaye Medlock, son of Lloyd Medlock and Loeta (Vestal) Medlock, was born November 18, 1939 near Niangua. He passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in his home at the age of 79.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jon J. Medlock III; one brother, Jesse Medlock; one sister, Jane Larson; and his mother-in-law, Irene Smittle.

 Survivors include his wife Ann; two sons, Jon Medlock and his wife Bobbi, Niangua and Bart Medlock and Kelley Caffey, Grovespring; two daughters, Kim Reid and her husband Dave, Marshfield and Shawna Hubbard and her husband Greg, Niangua; nine grandchildren, Jake Medlock, Josh Gault, Elizabeth (Gault) Maddux and her husband Justin, Allison Reid, Justin Hart and his wife Tara, Garrett Cantrell, Ethan Medlock and his fiancé Shawnee Hawkins, Tyler Medlock and Logan Medlock; three great-grandchildren, Jade Medlock, Gunner Medlock and Jax Hart; and two sisters, Jean Jones, Sunrise Beach and Joan Bacon, Tulsa.

 “Big” Jon Medlock was a farmer his whole life.   He also worked road construction for many years, was an OTR truck owner/driver and a dog kennel owner/operator.  In Big Jon’s time away from work, he could be found with family and friends; playing rook, shooting a game of pool, hunting, fishing, or truck pulling.  He always had a friendly smile and enough orneriness to keep everyone entertained.  He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Good Spring Cemetery, Niangua.

 Visitation will be from 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Medlock family.
