Lester Wayne Ivie

Lester Wayne Ivie was born July 16, 1928 in Niangua, MO to Gerald and Leva (Latimer) Ivie. He passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield at the age of 89.

Waynewas a member of Prospect Baptist Church and a lifelong carpenter.  He enjoyed fishing, playing hisguitar and harmonica for local nursing homes with a group of friends. He also enjoyed treasure hunting with his metal detectors, especially when he foundCivil War relics.

He was preceded in death by  his parents, and his wife, Melba.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Salsman, Springfield, MO; his brother, Gary Ivie, Marshfield, MO; several nieces and nephews; and his sisters-in-law Marlyn Alexander, Conway, MO. and Judy Ivie, Niangua, MO.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Fraker Funeral Home, with visitation before the funeral from 10 a.m. to 11:00. Interment will be at Copening Cemetery.
