Mary B. Strobel

Mary Bernice Ficken Strobel, 87, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her home in Marshfield, with members of her family by her side.

Mary was born on September 28, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to Henry and Anna Ficken.

She attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School during her early years, and Bishop Hogan High School graduating in 1947. Soon after graduation she went to work at Luziers, Inc., a cosmetic manufacturing plant in Kansas City.

She met John Strobel in 1948 and in 1950 they were married. Their first child, Catherine Ann was born in 1952 and currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. John Richard was born in 1953, and currently lives in Conway, Missouri. Julie Marie was born in 1955. She and her husband Kevin Raven live in Lenexa, Kansas. Lisa Diann was born in 1957. She and her husband Charles Raymond Allen live in Derby, Kansas. Laura Louise was born in 1960. She and her husband Jerry Friesen live in Wichita, Kansas. Mary and John have 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

On June 10, John and Mary will have been married 68 years.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Marshfield, MO, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Rosary service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 in Fraker Funeral Home with visitation following.
