Billy Joe Mathis
Billy Joe Mathis, Strafford, was born July 29, 1935 in Niangua, MO to Roy and Jewell (Alexander) Mathis. He departed this life on July 14, 2021 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 85.
Billy had worked as a truck driver for Associated Grocers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; one great-grandson; brothers, Dale Mathis and David Mathis; three sisters, Mary Mathis, Lena Mathis, and Virginia Graves; and his son-in-law, Jim Lytle.
Billy is survived by his wife, Joan Mathis, Strafford; three children, Judy Lytle, Shallowater, TX, John Mathis and wife Debra, Rogersville, MO, and Joe Mathis and wife Becky, Strafford, MO; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in Mathis Cemetery, Niangua, under the care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
