Tabitha "Tab" N. Melton

Tabitha “Tab” Nichole Melton ran to the arms of her beloved Scott in Heaven. She greeted him on November 5th, 2022 at the age of 44 years.

Tab was born in the middle of a snowstorm on January 13th, 1978 in Springfield, MO.

As a little girl, she was so full of energy she would walk on her tippy toes. And she was so full of sass!

Tab always tried to make others happy, either with her sweet smile, a big hug, or an encouraging word. But always unconditional love.

She had a bubbly personality and the prettiest sparkle to her eyes.

Tab loved the Lord. When Scott became homebound, the church came to their house and had church there. That little house was filled to the brim.

Tab loved music and spending time with her family. She was a phenomenal cake decorator and artist. She was also a great writer. She loved the St. Louis Blues. Tab was a caregiver from the time she was a teenager until she passed.

She loved nothing more than being a wife and mother. She was happiest at home with Scott, Blake, and her bonus boys Conner, Collin, Jordon, and many more.

Tab loved kids. She loved her time at the daycare and enjoyed watching them all grow up.

Tab loved people, but she loved Lug most of all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Melton; her grandparents, Jerry and Faye Asher; two grandfathers, Jerry Yarbrough and Billy Wayne Evans; and in-laws, Vivian and Allen Melton.

Tab is survived by her son, Blake Melton, Elkland; her mother and dad, Reenea “Moses” and Greg Yarbrough, Elkland; three brothers, Justin Barclay and wife Kristine, Elkland, Chase Yarbrough, Elkland, and Adam Stephens; her father, Michael Barclay, Titusville, FL; one sister, Lindy Baker and husband Doug, Marshfield; her bonus boys, Conner, Collin, and Jordon; her grandparents, Bonnie Yarbrough, Northview, Bill and Phyllis Barclay, Springfield, Ginger Barclay, Rogersville; and a whole bunch of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland.
