Gary "Spanky" Mikkelsen

Gary Lynn “Spanky” Mikkelsen was born on November 27, 1961, in Springfield, MO to Chester and Juanita (Pierce) Mikkelsen. He departed this life on June 5, 2025, at the age of 63 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

He had worked as an E.R. tech at St. John’s Hospital, then later worked at Wal-Mart.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary is survived by his wife, Dana Mikkelsen of Marshfield; his daughter, Christie Mikkelsen of Marshfield; two brothers and their wives, Stephen and Ember Mikkelsen of Niangua, and Mark and Melody Mikkelsen of Springfield; one sister, Ina Gray of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in Niangua Cemetery, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
