Pauline Ruth Allen, Marshfield, was born August 22, 1939 in Troy, New York. She departed this life on July 6, 2020 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 80.

Pauline was a charter member of the Cherry Blossom Festival, as well as a member of the Elkland Independent Methodist Church, where she served on the church board. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved gardening, canning, crocheting, baking pies for friends, and riding her lawn mower. She worked as an executive secretary for 25 years at Hadley-Luzerne High School and 25 years at Mercy.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Allen; her mother, Sophie Strait, and her grandson, Joshua Ortega.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Wacasey (John), Houston, TX, Carol (Pedro) Carrillo, Yakima, WA, Cheryl Cummings (Jo) Grandberry, TX, Crystal Nutter (Dave), Marshfield, and Connie Walker (Floyd), Elkland; siblings, Art Dunbar, Walt Dunbar, John Dunbar, James Dunbar, and Helen Greenwood; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Elkland Independent Methodist Church, with visitation before services. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
