Phillip Douglas
Phillip DeWayne Douglas, Marshfield, was born September 11, 1946 in Mansfield, MO to Theodore and Mildred Goss Douglas. He departed this life on February 17, 2020 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO at the age of 73 years, 5 months and six days.
Phillip attended Mansfield Schools, graduating in the class of 1965. He attended Draughon’s Business school and worked several years for Hutchens Industries. In recent years he enjoyed renovating houses for Resale with the help of his Amish friend, Sam Zook. He also enjoyed attending auctions, especially buying and selling antique dishes with his companion Joan Lapham.
Phillip had made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and attended Sunshine Baptist Church for several years with his dad.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Katrinia Hope Douglas, his son, Eric and Amanda Douglas, 2 grandchildren Dakota “Cody” and Chelsey (whom he was very proud of), 2 brothers, Harold (Johnna) Douglas, and Gary Douglas. One nephew, Michael Douglas and his family, one Aunt, Norma and Eddie Chambers, Midwest City, OK, his companion of 22 years, Joan Lapham and her family. He was especially fond of granddaughter Taylor and great-grandson Lincoln. Numerous other relatives and friends.
The past few months as a resident of Glenwood Health Center he formed a special bond with several of the employees who treated him with much love and care.
While we will miss him, we rejoice in knowing he is out of pain and enjoying his heavenly home.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at Seymour Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, February 20 in the funeral home.
