Perry Lee Price
Perry Price’s graveside service will be in St. Luke United Methodist Church instead of St. Luke Cemetery.
Perry Lee Price, age 81 years, of Rolla, MO, passed away on Saturday, May 11, at Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born December 18, 1942, in Elkland, MO, to the late Lee and Mildred Price. He attended St. Luke for grade school and graduated from Marshfield High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla, later known as Missouri University of Science and Technology, with a Bachelor's degree in history. He was a member of the Cuba Masonic Lodge #312. He worked various jobs including road and building construction, salesman, and Missouri State Highway Patrolman. He retired from Shelter Insurance as a claims adjuster in 2007. Perry was united in marriage to Ann Langston on June 17, 1966, and to this union two daughters were born.
Perry enjoyed spending time with family, especially his brothers. He liked playing games, telling jokes, fishing, shooting, collecting useful gadgets, indulging his grandchildren, and serving cold drinks. He had a delightful sense of humor. He never met a stranger, and everyone he met remembered him and was happy to know him.
Perry was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ann Price; two brothers: George "Rex" Price and John "Max" Price; sister-in-law Virginia Ann Price; three brothers-in-law: John Taylor, Richard Shelley and Ray Langston; and nephew Blaine Price.
His memory will be cherished by two daughters: Sarah (Chris) Matt of Ft. Worth, TX, and Julie (Chris) Johnson of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren: Laura Matt, Ellen Matt, Andrew Johnson, and Elizabeth Johnson; two brothers: Jerry (Peggy) Price of Strafford, MO, and Gary (Kathy) Price of Elkland, MO; sisters-in-law: Joyce Price of Salem, MO, Carolyn Taylor of Steelville, MO, Pat Shelley of Alpharetta, GA, Debbie Langston of Jefferson City, MO, and Sally (Tom) Russo of Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends.
A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held in the St. Luke Cemetery pavilion on May 16,2024 at 1:00 pm and family will receive friends at a reception following inside St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1164 Long State Highway Y, Conway, MO.
