Robert "Dwane" Hillhouse, Jr.
Robert Dwane Hillhouse, Jr. was born to Robert Dwane and Helen (Southard) Hillhouse on August 30, 1953 and departed this life on December 26, 2020 at the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 26 days. He was united in marriage to Rose Marie Burgess on November 27, 1971. To this union was born two sons, Jerry Dean and Robert Anderson (Andy.)
He was baptized in his early teens and was a faithful member of the Claxton Church of Christ. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Helen, his grandparents Vivian and Neva Southard, and his grandparents Clay and Bessie Hillhouse.
Remaining family to miss him dearly is Rose, his wife of 49 years. Jerry Hillouse and wife Krista of Fayetteville, AR. Robert (Andy) Hillhouse and wife Kristina of Competition, MO. Two brothers, David Hillhouse and wife Florence of Competition, MO. Danny Hillhouse and wife Sherry of Phillipsburg, MO. He also leaves behind seven grandsons and 6 granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.
Dwane was active in many different types of activities during his life. First and foremost he was very active in his church. Some of his proudest moments were spent helping young people in the Boy Scouts of America. He had a positive influence on hundreds of young people during his 15+ years as a scouter.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He most loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren.
Dwane spent almost 32 years working for the Missouri Department of Conservation doing forest management and fighting forest fires. He called it his dream job.
He also shot commercial fireworks for Premier Pyrotechnics for several years. He loved the feeling of pride after completing a successful show.
He was very patriotic. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was very proud of that fact.
He will be greatly missed by his family and his many, many friends.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Claxton Cemetery near Falcon, MO.
