Ronald Eugene Cantrell, Sr.
RONALD EUGENE CANTRELL, SR., son of Jasper C. and Dorothy (Golden) Cantrell, was born in Webster County, Missouri on February 24, 1938 and passed away on June 24, 2019, in Springfield, Missouri.
Ronald grew up in the home of his Uncle Sherdon and Aunt Hazel Cantrell. Ronald and his sister Agnes grew up alongside of their eleven cousins, who became their brothers and sisters.
On May 8, 1956, he was united in marriage with Normalea Nadine Welch and to this union five sons and two daughters were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald, Jr., who died in infancy and his wife Normalea, who passed away on March 14, 2006.
Ronald owned and operated Cantrell Masonry. During his free time he enjoyed restoring old vehicles, especially his old Ford trucks. He enjoyed watching westerns, but, the happiest time of his life was spending time with his boys on deer hunting trips in Ozark county.
He is survived by four sons and their wives: Allen and Dottie, of Marshfield, Mark and Alanda, of Elkland, Stephen and Rena’, of Marshfield and Mikal Cantrell, of Marshfield; two daughters: Linda Cantrell, of Marshfield and Brenda Cruise and her husband Jim, of Marshfield; two sisters: Agnes McVay and her husband Bob, of Marshfield and Kathy Day, of Seymour; three brothers and their wives: Tom and Mary, of Strafford, Keith and Cynthia, of Hartville and Larry and Jearlene Cantrell, of Marshfield; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle, Sherdon and Hazel Cantrell; five brothers: Emmett, Toney, Carlos, Marshall and Zed Cantrell and one sister: Frances Payton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2019, in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, 1131. State Hwy A, Marshfield, with Lynndon Welch, officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 PM, Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the funeral home.
