Joan Smith
Joan Smith, Marshfield, was born August 19, 1933 in Marshfield, MO. She passed away July 19, 2021 in Webco Manor, Marshfield, at the age of 87.
Joan had worked as a realtor and a sales clerk. She owned a Dairy Queen in Wichita in the late 60’s. Joan had volunteered at Mercy/St. John’s Hospital for 15 years. She enjoyed going to auctions, and being at home on the farm. She loved to cook, with her specialty being dinner rolls. She was always a great hostess for her family during holidays and special times. She was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church, and transferred her membership to Faith Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal George, and her husband, Charles Eugene Smith.
Joan is survived by her children, Rodney Smith (Karen), Springfield, and Deborah Smith, Springfield; her sister, Judy Kirby, AR; and three grandchildren, Curtis Smith (Deb), Salt Lake City, UT, Jennifer Jaber (Chris), Lowell, AR, and Alex Smith, Springfield; and three great-grandchildren, Haro Smith, Everly Smith and Maven Smith.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. before services Thursday from 1:00-1:45 p.m.
