Karen Temen

Karen Louise Temen, Marshfield, was born March 27, 1952 in Joliet, IL. She passed away on January 9, 2022 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 69.

Karen was an excellent cook and baker. She loved children and animals (especially cats.) Karen enjoyed watching soap operas and was a great pool player. She and Bruce were a team. She had worked as a bail bonds agent, and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Hilda (Zerbs) Nitsche; her daughter, Julie Louise Temen; her fond aunt, Vera Eleanor Zerbs; sister-in-law, Dona Smith; and brother-in-law Brent Temen.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Temen, of the home; two children, Jeremy (Elizabeth)  Temen, Marshfield, and Joyce (John) McMillen, Marshfield; two sisters, Jean (Joaquin) Cisneros and Charlotte (Allen Barth) Zerbs-Barth, Manteno, IL; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nephew, Rick Manzano; niece, Sarah Zerbs; her in-laws, Ken (Anna) Temen, Tanya Gleash, Brad Temen, Brian Smith, Jeff Temen, Craig Temen, and Bryan Temen; and several other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in the funeral home, with interment following in Marshfield Cemetery.
