Virginia Miller
Virginia (Byler) Miller, or Ginny as she was known to many, went to be with Jesus on July 12, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, David R. Miller. She was the loving mother of William (Janae Bear), Jessica (Nathan Yoder), Jared (Mina Amstutz), Joshua, Rachael, and Neil. She was the beloved Gigi of Christopher, Hans, and Liam.
Virginia was born in Chardon, Ohio on April 25, 1965 to Robert and Lydia Byler. She was the second of five children who will miss her greatly: Robert Dale, Darlene, Barbie, and Dan.
As a little girl growing up in Mansfield, Missouri, she loved to take a good book and a bowl of apples and sit in the swing under the tree and enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks. She also spent many hours playing with her siblings and cousins, riding bike, exploring, and making beautiful memories.
Ginny gave her heart to Jesus at a young age and served Him faithfully her entire life. She was a member of Ozark Mennonite Church and taught at Ozark Mennonite School for two years before marrying David. She was especially known for her hospitality and service, and her interest in people could make any stranger feel like a friend. Her stories told over coffee and cinnamon rolls warmed many hearts. Her friends knew her as a loyal and genuine friend who enjoyed listening to them and laughing with them.
She was a beautiful example of motherhood and her children will always remember how she made everyday life special. One of her favorite quotes was “Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.” Her children were always made to feel loved by the effort she put into activities like picnics, birthday parties, traveling, and camping trips.
Mom fought a three-year battle with cancer. Her example of faith and courage through it all has helped us find strength. Even through her pain, her beautiful faith in God helped to keep our faith alive. We know she spent many hours praying for us and we trust that those prayers will continue to be answered. Her selfless and sacrificial life is an example we all want to live up to so her legacy will live on.
Mom loved being surrounded by beautiful things like her flowers and trees. We can only imagine the beauty that she is experiencing now.
Services will be at Ozark Mennonite Church on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Ozark Mennonite Cemetery.
