Alvin Berl Price, son of George Franklin Price and Edith Joyce (McNabb) Price, was born March 6, 1924 in Conway, MO and passed away at 2:30 a.m. February 21, 2018 in the Tipton Oak Manor in Tipton, MO, at the age of 93.

Alvin was raised on a farm near Elkland.  During World War II the farm supplied much needed milk.  It was a great grief to Alvin that his health prevented him from serving in the military, so he went to the shipyards in California where he worked as a welder building landing barges.  He remained very patriotic his entire life.

Alvin married Nadine Pettigrew on May 19, 1946, and they spent 70 joyful years together.  Soon after their marriage they moved to Arizona where Marsha was born in 1948.  Later they returned to the Missouri farm where Randy was born in 1953. Eventually the family moved to St. Louis where Alvin worked many years as a master carpenter.  He was very particular about little details:  doors hanging straight, drawers that pulled straight, and customizing cabinets to fit life's little treasures.

Taking their family to church was a priority for Alvin and Nadine.  In St. Louis, they joined the Ferguson Church of the Nazarene where they committed many years of service in Sunday School, bus ministry, missions, and faithful giving.  Reverend Udell Moss was a good friend to Alvin, and together they invited people from all over Ferguson to come hear solid Biblical preaching.  The church family grew together, and many friends were already waiting with Nadine to welcome Alvin home to Heaven.

Upon retiring, Alvin and Nadine moved to Tipton.  They spent happy years doing everything together, especially reading the Bible aloud and praying for people all over the world.  Names and needs were added daily to a list that Nadine kept, making sure that she and Alvin prayed for all.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and wife.  Survivors include two children, Marsha Elizabeth Strunk of Chickasha, OK and Randy Berl Price and his wife, Jolaine of Tipton, MO; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lou Wilson of LaFeria, TX.

Funeral services for Alvin Price will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, MO. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland, MO.
