MaryEtta Ballard, 88, of Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born October 30, 1935, at Whitesburg, Letcher County, Kentucky to Judge Lilly Yonts and Mary Ellen Amburgey Yonts. On January 28, 1951 she was married to the love of her life, Howard Lavaughn Ballard who preceded her in death, January 16, 2011. She also was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; Minnie, Juanita, Willie, Raymond, Benjamin, Joseph, Judge Lilly Joe, Ann, Beryl, Jesse, Noah Lee, Neil, Nettie and Oscar Yonts. Two granddaughters, Alicia DeLynn Snow and Tammy Sue Haney.
Besides being a devoted homemaker, she also helped in the operation of their dairy and livestock farm. She was also employed by numerous public jobs. She accepted Christ as her Personal Saviour many years ago and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Her many interests included: she found immense joy in fishing, quilting, loved to travel and go to garage sales.
Above all, her proudest accomplishment was her family, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Maryetta's heart swelled with pride for her big family, each member holding a special place in her life. The bonds she nurtured will forever serve as a testament to her unwavering devotion and cherished legacy.
Survivors include: five daughters and one son; Judy Ballard of Conway, Missouri, Debbie Jean Snow, her husband Joy L. Snow of Marshfield, Missouri, Joyce Sellars, her husband Harold Sellars of Jackson, Tennessee, Shirley Farrington and husband Bryan Farrington of Jackson, Tennessee, Rebecca Jimenez and husband Jaime Jimenez Sr., of Niangua, Missouri and Wallace Lee Ballard of Troy, Montana. Grandchildren; Randy Snow, Jimmy Snow, Michelle Snow Brown, Lee Moore, Michael Moore, Shane Moore, Vicky Hoyle, Kenneth Gully, Dawn Davis, Mark Gully, Richard Lynn Willis, Tonya Shoematt, Heather Fullilove, Ronnie Farrington, Jamie Farrington, Jaime Jimenez, Tyler Jimenez, Austin Jimenez and Josh Ballard. Numerous Great Grandchildren and Great Great grandchildren. Siblings: Paul Yonts of Hot Springs , Arkansas, Ernest Yonts (Shelby) of Hammond, Indiana, Clara Davis of Pennsylvania, Monroe Yonts and wife Mary of Poco, West Virginia and David Yonts and wife Paula of Lebanon, Missouri. Many Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., 1131 State Hwy. A, Marshfield, with interment following in Prospect Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, August 29 in the funeral home.
