David Allen Nimmo

David Allen Nimmo also lovingly known as David, Dad, Grandpa Dave or Uncle David, was Born October 8, 1943 in Woodlawn, Illinois to Helen Pearl (McDuffy) and David Barton Nimmo. David was the spoiled and beloved baby brother to Helen June, Linda Lou, and Carol Jean. They all had a great childhood growing up in Elk Creek, Missouri and at age 12 David and the Nimmo family moved to sunny Southern California in 1955. At the young age of 20, David married Eileen Hayes and joyfully brought into this world his son Jeffrey Allen in 1963.  In 1966 he married Pauline Vanasse, and gained her two adorable daughters Suzanne age 4 and Patricia age 2. In 1967 a beautiful baby girl, Christine, joined the happy family.

David became a long-haul truck driver experiencing most of the 50 states and Canada. He treasured his family time and loved fishing, camping and reading in his limited spare time. In addition, when he and Pauline moved in 1983 to their own piece of heaven, ten beautiful acres in Marshfield, Missouri, he knew this was where they were meant to be. David also had some fun and luck playing slot machines and getting daily lottery scratchers. He was well known for being a person who always knew EVERYTHING. True or not depends on who you ask and is still up for debate!  He was a self-taught mechanic who loved cars. Everyone asked him for his expertise and help. Even on his last day on earth, he overheard his family discussing a mechanical issue and told them to “check the ground wire,” he was always ready to offer help. Family and friends knew David as a big jokester. He often introduced his wife Pauline as Bruce, everyone laughed as soon as they found out her name was really Pauline.  Those who traveled with him all agree; he always knew where the best chicken and breakfast was served. For David, his wife, kids and ever-growing family were his worldly treasure. Even though he is not here with us, he will be forever in our hearts.

David is preceded in death by his Parents David and Helen Nimmo, his sisters, Helen and Carol, an infant brother, William, his nephews Rick and David and niece Sherry. 

He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years Pauline Nimmo. His sister Linda Emery and her husband Leonard of Springfield, Missouri. His Son, Jeff Nimmo and his wife Michele of Rolling Hills Estate, California. His daughters: Chris Adams and her husband Mike of Cape Fair, Missouri, Pat Stephenson and her husband Mark of Springfield, Missouri, Sue Esquivel and her husband Peter of Marshfield, Missouri, and Deanna DePalma (number four) of Murietta, California. Plus, 17 grandkids, and 23 great grandkids. In addition to countless nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
