Dana Ann Burris

Dana Ann Burris (Woolsey) was born August 16, 1960 to Ivan Murry Woolsey and Grace Viola Wilkinson of Springfield, Missouri.

She was an intelligent and compassionate child who loved spending time with family members; especially her beloved sister, Debby, of whom she always said, “She was by best friend growing up.” Dana carried that passion for family her whole life.

After graduating Willard High School, she settled in Marshfield, Missouri and raised her own family of five children; Joshua, Jennifer, Joel, Jordan and Jesse. She was a wonderful mother who raised her children by living out the example of Christ-like leadership over the years. She was an encouragement and mentor to many. She stood courageously through many storms of life, and was a rock for her children. She handmade blankets for children in the cancer ward of St. Louis Children’s Hospital. As well as sewing, she found pleasure in crocheting, reading, writing, and genealogy research. She followed her children’s lives and careers with great interest, supporting them, and celebrating their successes. She enjoyed laughing, playing, and visiting her grandchildren often. Dana was special. She spent her life pouring into others. She knew how to make everyone around her feel special and loved.

She passed away at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri, Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 6:40 p.m. She was surrounded in her final moments by beloved family members. Her memory will be cherished by friends and many loved ones whose lives she touched.

Dana was preceded in death by her father.
