Lula Irene Byrd, Marshfield, was born February 21, 1936, to Truel and Verba Frances (Manar) Nunn in Niangua, MO. She departed this life September 12, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 86.

Irene graduated from Marshfield High School in 1954.  She attended Ohio State University and retired from IBM. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was an avid doll collector and used her artistic talent to create beautiful carousel horses. She was the owner of several Grand national and World national champion miniature horses.  

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Byrd; her brother, Larry Nunn; her sister, DeEtta Burney; her sisters-in-law’s, Judy Nunn, and Arlene Nunn; her grandson, Bryan Lee Byrd, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Marty Byrd (Marilynn), Michael Byrd (Linda), Bryan Byrd (DeAnne), Cynthia Enke (Scott), and Rebecca Jackson (Kevin); her siblings, Kenneth Nunn, James Nunn, Joyce Waller (Francis), Martha McLaughlin Taylor, and Sam Nunn; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow in Marshfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 2022, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
