Marlyn Sue Alexander

 
 

Marlyn Sue Alexander, daughter of Lucien Allen and Alta (Weaver) Allen, was born July 4, 1937 in Grovespring, MO. She passed away at 1:04 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in her home near Conway at the age of 85.

Marlyn was a homemaker who loved taking care of John and Minga, and  her grandchildren. She was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Marlyn taught herself to play the piano at an early age. Over the years she enjoyed music parties with family and friends, bluegrass festivals, and playing a good game of Rook. She spent 30 years baking pies for the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival and loved all the time spent with good friends and good music. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard Lee Alexander; her son in law, John Marlin; and five sisters, Deloris Shaddy, Dolyn Calame, Margie Westmorland, Melba Ivie and Marcella Whittaker. 

She is survived by her daughter, Minga Marlin, Conway; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kelby and Martha Marlin, Marshfield, Caleb and Krystal Marlin, Conway and Corban Alise and Logan Wendt, Conway; five great- grandchildren Elsie Marlin, Risdon Marlin, Cora Marlin, Emerie Marlin and Quentin Marlin; and several other friends and relatives. 

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Mathis Cemetery, Niangua, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church or Mathis Cemetery in care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, MO 65706.
