Anette Marie Carriger
Anette Marie Carriger left this world on April 19, 2022, to reunite with her Savior and the family that preceded her in death.
Marie was born August 29, 1942, to Richard Jesse Carriger Sr. and Mary Marie (Hembree) Carriger on a farm in Grovespring, Missouri.
Upon graduation from Hillcrest High School in 1960, Marie worked as the Garden Room Hostess at Heer’s downtown. She had a varied job history including being a licensed beautician; a customer service representative at a fabric store, where she became an accomplished seamstress making many of the clothes her family wore. She was also a cashier at Dillon’s grocery store before finding her niche in the banking industry. She was employed by the Central Bank for 30 years before retirement.
Marie was saved as a young girl at Elk Creek Church during a revival. The evangelist was J R Bogart. He preached Hell so hot she could feel it and knew she didn’t want to go there. She attended several churches, the last one being Liberty Baptist Church, throughout her lifetime, working as a Youth leader and Sunday School teacher to a variety of age groups.
Marie loved to create beautiful things through crochet, cross-stitch, making Christmas ornaments for her family, and most especially quilting. She was a hand-piecer and hand-quilter. If you received a quilt from her, you were indeed blessed. Baby quilts were one of her favorites to make and give as gifts. She taught many ladies to quilt. She was a stickler for ¼” seams and wearing a thimble.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers: Richard Carriger Jr., Garry Carriger, and Edward Carriger. She is survived by her daughters; Chari & Leon Burrell; Kimberlie & Heath Anderjaska. Her grandchildren; Amanda Burrell & Jim Phillips; Christopher & Shanna Burrell; Chad & Shelby Anderjaska; Sierra Anderjaska and Dylan Watson. Her much-loved great-grandchildren; Jesse Burrell; Austen Anderjaska; and Lottie Burrell. Her honorary daughter, Kim Syska in Texas. Her sisters-in-law; Edna Carriger Mosley, Texas; Judy Carriger, Branson; and Linda Carriger, Oklahoma and other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends too numerous to mention.
If you received a quilt from Marie, the family would like a picture and the story that goes with your quilt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Judes or the donor’s favorite charity.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, at noon at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be Saturday before the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Little Creek Cemetery, Hartville, MO.
