Chris Young

Christopher Virgil Young, son of Jacob Virgil Young and Mable Lucille (Marlin) Young, was born October 1, 1956 in Springfield, MO. He passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the age of 66.

Chris graduated from Marshfield High School in 1974. He went on to attend University of Missouri – Columbia, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science.

On July 12, 1980, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Jill Brown.

He was a lifelong member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church and even on his most challenging days, his faith never wavered.

Chris had two careers. First in farming and later selling heavy equipment. Both careers allowed him to meet many people and develop impactful relationships.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lucille Young, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Florence Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Jill; two daughters and their husbands, Jessica and Brandon Robinson, Marshfield and Tess and Nathaniel Crawford, Marshfield; one sister and her husband, Carol and Chuck Cooksey, Marshfield; one brother and his wife, Mark and Desiree Young, Marshfield; one sister-in-law and her husband, Jan and Randy Dameron, Marshfield; two nephews, (Jacob Young and Ryan Cooksey) and one niece (Ashley Coffer); along with many other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. Interment will follow in St Luke Cemetery, Conway.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Gideons or the St Luke Food Pantry in care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. PO Box 85, Marshfield, MO 65706.
