Betty Sue Cook

 
 

Betty Sue Cook, Lebanon, was born April 26, 1939, in Long Lane, MO, to Mark and Pauline (Jenkins) Mathews. She departed this life on September 19, 2024, in Cedarhurst, Lebanon, at the age of 85.

Betty had worked as a cook throughout the majority of her life before working in maintenance at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She found joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren and family, especially having big family gatherings. She did everything she could to provide for her family. Betty’s favorite pastimes were finding treasures at yard sales and the excitement and hope she found in scratching lottery tickets. She loved spending time on their farm. Betty was a breast cancer survivor.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James Hendrix; her late husband, Ronald Cook; sisters, Sharlene Knapp and Pam Mathews; her sister-in-law, Joyce Mathews; brother-in-law, Dan Talbot; and two grandchildren, Randall Rifenburg and Brian McFadin.

Betty is survived by her children, Teresa Gregory, Conway, Sandie McFadin, Lebanon, Skeeter and wife Tammy Hendrix, Lebanon, Wade and wife Kim Hendrix, Buffalo, Regina and husband Chad Springer, Lebanon, and Travis Dampier, Conway; stepsons David and wife Angela Cook, Springfield, Darin and wife Terry Cook, Springfield; siblings, Shirley Hendrix, Marshfield, John Mathews, Buffalo, Sharon Talbot, Lebanon, Donna and husband Dwayne Keith, Bennett Springs, Junior Mathews, Long Lane, Brenda and husband Jackie Turner, Long Lane, Doug Mathews, Long Lane, and Dwight Mathews and wife Charlene, Long Lane; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2024 at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, with visitation to follow services.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Unity Baptist Church. The family requests plants instead of cut flowers for those who prefer to send plants.
