Delores M. Rost

 
 

Delores Marie Rost, daughter of Don and Sarah (Nickels) Sparks, was born November 22, 1940 in Waynesville, MO. Delores departed this life for her Heavenly Home on Friday, January 6, 2023 in Springhouse Village at the age of 82 after a long courageous battle with lung and Alzheimer’s diseases. 

Delores was united in marriage with Elvin (E.L.) Rost on June 4, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Dixon, Missouri. To this union a son Craig and a daughter Carri were born. 

Delores made a career as a bookkeeper at Brooks Gas Co. in Marshfield from which she retired.

Delores accepted her Lord as her Savior at the age of 10. She was an active and dedicated member of Marshfield First Baptist Church and loved her special Sunday School class. 

Delores and EL enjoyed traveling with family, friends and especially enjoyed their church trips. Delores was very active and loved to be going somewhere or being with her family and friends. She had a servant’s heart and was always cooking or baking bread or the beloved sour cream twists!

She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Sarah Sparks; her husband E.L. Rost; and one grandson, Sean Hummer.

Survivors include one son Craig Rost, Springfield; one daughter Carri Hummer and her husband Clayton, Springfield; a granddaughter, Jessi Hummer and her boyfriend Taevon Brown, Springfield; a grandson, Tyler Hummer and his girlfriend Marlee Noskowiak, Ozark; three sisters, Joan Long, Tulsa, Sue Prewett, St. Louis and Gayle Prater and her husband Larry, Dixon; two brothers, Bart Sparks and his wife Janet, Manchester and Dale Sparks and his wife Sharon, Wentzville; and many other relatives, friends, and special neighbors. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday, January 20 in the funeral home.
