Don P. Lawson

Don P. Lawson, age 84, passed away on February 2, 2022.  He was born to Joe and Lovada (Formay) Lawson on September 20, 1937.

Although born in California, he made his life in Missouri with his wife Mary Lawson.  They spent their almost 44 years together living happily on the “Lawson Farm” in Elkland, Missouri.

While working as a floor layer, he also worked hard to build a home (and lots of memories) for him, Mary and two of five children.  He enjoyed this and the great feeling of accomplishment it gave him.

He liked hunting and fishing too, but not as much as he liked cracking jokes, telling stories, giving all of us a hard time and of course, drinking beer with family and friends.

Preceded in death by both parents, four siblings, Joe Gene, Rosemary, Sandra and Noel and one daughter, Debbie Lawson.

Survived by his wife: Mary; four children: David Lawson and wife Eve, Lisa Lawson and fiancé Danny, Ronda Lawson and Brandon Davidson, B.J. Lawson and wife Cassie; sister: Melba Griffin; 20 grandchildren: Jesse Hicks and wife Jessica, Dylan Hicks and wife Kelsey, Ashlee Myers, Eric Lawson, Emma, John Brandy, Daniel, Carly, Sara, Michelle, Tony, Denise, Lacey, Meagan, Ariana, Tyler, Joseph, Hunter and Austin; 26 great-grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews, as well as many others that became his children and grandchildren.

Before passing, he said – The most important thing he wanted everyone to know – “He loved everyone of us very much and he will see us all on the other side.”

Graveside funeral services and interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland.

For those desiring, memorials are requested in Don’s memory to be made in lieu of flowers, to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home.

Funeral services are entrusted to care of Fraker Funeral Home, 1131 State Hwy A., Marshfield, Missouri   65706.
