Eugene Amos Gipson
Eugene Amos Gipson, Strafford, was born March 30, 1929 in Dyersburg, TN to Elijah and Grace (Gookin) Gipson. He departed this life on October 3, 2021 in his home at the age of 92.
Eugene had worked as a foreman at a steel mill for 34 years. He was a member of Marshfield Assembly of God Church, and could often be found reading his Bible. He loved to sing and to cook (especially southern cornbread.) He was a huge fan of the Chicago White Sox. Eugene enjoyed watching westerns and Perry Mason. He adored his dog, Candy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his ex-wife, Theresa (Gipson) Benedict.
Eugene is survived by two children, Eugene Allen Gipson, Portage, IN, and Grace Elizabeth Csikos-Gipson, Strafford; grandchildren, Theresa Cox (Shane), Andrew Joseph Eugene Gipson (Sasha), and Kameron Gipson; and great-grandchildren, Christina Bailey (Robert), Jeffrey Kikkert, Merrill Kikkert “Boo,” Christian Kikkert, Brandon Watt, Jonathan Watt; great-great-grandchildren, Tessa Bailey, Jerica Bailey, Avery Kikkert, Ty Kikkert and Hazel Kikkert; and special grandson, Jade Watt.
Funeral services for Eugene Gipson will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., with interment following in Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 a.m. Monday.
