Edward Goin, Sr.
Edward Eugene Goin, Sr., Marshfield, was born July 4, 1931 in Springfield, MO to Orville and Elsie (Friend) Goin. He passed away September 1, 2021 in Buffalo, MO at the age of 90.
Edward enjoyed race cars; he had raced at Talledega. He raced midgets and convertibles. He had worked with Richard Petty and Rusty Wallace. During his lifetime, Edward had worked as a welder, in heating and air, and as a Coffeyville, KS Police Officer. He had served in the United States Army during Korea. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou; his son, Edward Eugene Goin, Jr.; his siblings, Mary Francis, Sandra Kay, Jesse Ray, Carol Clyde, Donnie, Earl and George.
Edward is survived by his children, Linda Henry, Springfield, Jackie Plemmons (James), Marshfield, John Goin, Springfield, Darrell Goin (Wanda), Springfield, Vicky Quinn (Scott), Marshfield, Denise Kelley, Walnut Grove, Steve Goin, Springfield, Kevin Goin (Lori), Denver, CO, Aaron Goin, Springfield, Lisa Goin, Marshfield, Kari Gray (Richard), Bastrop, TX, Gregory Goin (Robin), Buffalo; his siblings, Erma Swaringin, Humansville, Patsy Jones, Wichita, KS, and Billy Goin, Mooresville; 39 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Marshfield Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church.
