Thomas Dee Good

 
 

Thomas Dee Good, age 77, residing in Springfield, MO, died at home on August 27, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Tom was born in Marshfield, MO, to Ervin and Esta Good on January 9, 1945. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in Springfield, MO in 1962. He and Betty were married in 1971 in Willow Springs, later divorced, and remarried in 1993.

Tom was a US Army Specialist 5, and was in the Army from 1967-1969, he did one tour in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star Medal.

He began his 35 year career as a truck driver at Campbell 66, and retired from AWG (in early 2000’s.) He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 608 in Strafford, MO.

In 2017 he was able to fulfill a dream of visiting the Vietnam memorial wall through Honor Flight of the Ozarks, escorted by his good friend Darren Myers.

Tom was an avid fisherman, loved watching NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with family. He was always willing to help anyone in need and was a good friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Esta Good, grandparents Orrin and Rena Boles, grandparents Jim and Lucy Good, and dear cousin Connie Miller.

He is survived by his wife Betty Good, daughter Kindal (Kyle) Jenkins, Tammi (Josh) Barbieri, Dina (Brian) Howard, and three step grandchildren Cameron, Erin, and Grayson; a half sister Marylyn May, and two cousins that were like siblings to him, Dottie Lacey and Don Miller, as well as many cousins.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Marshfield Cemetery, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. 1135 State Hwy A, Marshfield, MO 65706. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Fair Haven Children’s Home in Strafford, MO, or Honor Flight of the Ozarks and may be left in care of the funeral home.
