LaVerna Elizabeth Henscheid

LaVerna Elizabeth Henscheid, Springfield, was born January 17, 1930, to John Gerald and Mary Catherine (Knust) Batenhorst in Umbarger, TX. She departed this life January 11, 2023, at the age of 92.

LaVerna enjoyed gardening and watching the birds. She raised cattle and over 10,000 chickens alongside her husband. She loved going bowling, dancing, and playing cards. She was very talented at playing the accordion and piano. She enjoyed spending her free time going for walks.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Werner Albert Henscheid who she married on September 6, 1949; her parents; eight brothers and sisters; son-in-law, David Taylor; two grandsons, Dave, and Justin Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Kay Taylor, Springfield, Karen Ann Henscheid, St. Louis, Gilbert Charles Henscheid (Sharon), Monroe, MI, Clyde Raymond Henscheid (Pamela), Forsyth, Annette Marie Barry (Steven), Fair Grove; five grandchildren, Lesley Smith, Kristen Knapp, William Henscheid, John Henscheid, and Evan Barry; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be held before funeral services at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will be held in Marshfield Cemetery under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
