Special Agent James Dale “J.D.” Holdman, Jr., Marshfield, was born July 27, 1966 in Bonne Terre, MO to James and Joyce (Morris) Holdman. He departed this life on July 25, 2021 at the age of 54.

James was a loving husband and father. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed history, as well as teaching and traveling. James loved his job, and dedicated his life to serving others. He had worked in law enforcement, starting out as a Washington County deputy sheriff. He then began working for the state as an investigator for the State Fire Marshal’s office, where he participated in the Mineral Area Drug Task Force. He became a special agent with the Department of Homeland Security, as an investigator with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In 2016, he received the Guardian of Justice Award. James was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Holdman, and his mentor and uncle, Ray Holdman.

James is survived by his wife of 28 years, Denise (Hulsey) Holdman, of the home; his son, Wyatt Holdman, of the home; his father, James Dale Holdman, Sr., Caledonia, MO; his sister, Andrea Mitchell and husband, Jimmy, Desloge, MO; his father and mother -in-law, Mike and Linda Hulsey, Park Hills, MO; his brother-and sister-in-law, Lon and Shelly Blair, Sullivan, MO; special aunt, Debbie Lawson, Park Hills, MO; his uncle and aunt, LeRoy and Joan Holdman, Warrenton; nieces and nephews, Amanda Schrum, Joshua Sadler, Lauren Sadler; and great nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Marshfield, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will also be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Desloge, MO.
