John Lester Schorfheide

John Lester Schorfheide, Elkland, MO, was born April 26, 1946 in Centralia, IL, to Ralph and Ruth (Morris) Schorfheide. He departed this life on Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Springfield, MO. He was 71 years old.

 John was a proud Marine and Vietnam Veteran. He had previously worked as a railroad police officer and as a truck driver. He was a member of the United Church of Christ.

 He is survived by four children, John Schorfheide, Jr., Jessica Schorfheide, Margaret Ware and son-in-law Stephen Ware, and Scott Schorfheide; daughter-in-law, Lisa Schorfheide; granddaughter, Ashley Slocum; great-granddaughter, Finley Slocum; and his siblings, Robert Schorfheide, Sarah Erwin, Jean Schorfheide, Peggy Schorfheide, Gail Docter, Paul Schorfheide, and Laura Lara.

Military graveside services for John Schorfheide will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
