David A. Kepler

David A. Kepler of Marshfield, MO, passed away October 7, 2022. He was 67.

Dave was born May 31, 1955 in Norfolk, VA.

He is survived by his two children, Elizabeth (Thad) Eggleton of Branson, MO, Patrick Kepler of Buffalo, MO, and two grandchildren; his sister, Janice (Kevin) Dearing of Canton, IL, and his brother, Douglas A. (Mendy) Kepler of Peoria, AZ.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Donald L. and Beverly J. (McEuen) Kepler.

Dave graduated from Canton Senior High School in Canton, IL in 1973.

He proudly worked at International Harvester for several years before gaining employment at Dana Corporation in Havana.

He also became a skilled painter in Canton before moving his family to Claremont, CA, where he worked as a shop foreman at J.S. Fabrication (fire sprinklers) in Fontana for six years.

Returning to the Midwest in 1994, he was employed at Precision Stainless in Springfield, MO, a steel manufacturing plant, and worked in steel until retirement.

At different times in his life, Dave raced motorcycles, loved the thrill of drag races, enjoyed an occasional game of golf, and relished trips to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals play in the old Busch Stadium.

He played board games with his children and poker with the guys. He took a keen interest and actively participated in Fantasy League Baseball, planted flourishing gardens, and probably watched his favorite movie, β€œThe Sting,” 20 times over the years.

Most importantly, he provided a secure and supportive upbringing for his son and daughter. He was a family man, a good and loving dad. He will be sadly missed.
