Cella "Lenora" Evans

Cella “Lenora” Evans, Marshfield, was born April 1, 1931 in High Prairie, MO to Jack and Malissie (Hayes) Cook. She departed this life on June 13, 2022 in her home at the age of 91.

Lenora was a very selfless person, always helping others and putting them before herself. She was a wonderful mother. Lenora enjoyed flowers and gardening outdoors. Her other hobbies included crocheting, sewing, quilting and baking pies. She especially loved spending time with her family. She had worked as a side seamstress at HD Lee for 25 years, retiring in 1994. She had attended Liberty Baptist Church and Osage Baptist Church. While attending High Prairie Baptist Church, Lenora accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was saved. She was baptized at the age of 15 at the Roy Fraker Bridge.

Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; one son; and her siblings, Rufus Cook, Mary Wyatt, Louise Jones, Betty Joan, Sherman Cook, and Kathleen Cook.

She is survived by her children, Melba Burchfield (Tom), Bartlesville, OK, and Brian Evans (Michelle), Marshfield; her sister, Lena Petty, Rock Falls, IL; three grandchildren, Timothy Burchfield, Ethan Evans (Valarie), and Dalton Evans; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Evans; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022 at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., with interment following in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be before services from 9-10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
